Pre-Valentines Comedy Show! Headliner Don Hines AKA "JREAM" was blessed with the gift of comedy. He entered the Tri-State talent show at Delaware State University in 2005. The competition was fierce and he was the only comedian to perform against a wide variety of incredible talent. He won first place, and he has not stopped.

The Gin Game

The Gin Game, a 1978 Pulitzer Prize winning powerhouse written by D.L. Coburn, is a tragicomedy in two acts. Serving up equal portions of "laugh out loud" hilarity and gut-wrenching angst, the show centers around a man and a woman who meet on the porch of a run down nursing home that’s seen better days.

Interpretive Bike Ride

Warm up on a cold winter day via this one-hour bike ride and exploration of our park. Each month, join this free ride to learn about a different trail and bit of park history, flora and fauna. January: Yorklyn History Tour. Bike two miles with a park interpreter, from the historic Marshall paper mill down to the old historic post office and site of the old Yorklyn Hotel. Winter Tavern Tales: Medicinal Plants

Join Roger Mustalish and Chief Dennis Coker for a disussion on Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Healthcare: Health and Healing Traditions of the Lenape-Then and Now. The Lenape people of Delaware and the surrounding region developed complex, rich and sophisticated health and healing traditions with the use of native medicinal plants at their core. A major take away from this presentation will be that while the health and healing traditions of the Lenape people go back millennia, they also exist today, and the contributions of the Lenape people have been well integrated into our mainstream approach to holistic health and wellness.

Daily Walking Tours

The Dover Green has been the heart of this capital since its 18th-century founding. Led by a knowledgeable interpreter, experience the stories of the sites and people that have defined the First State experience. There's always something new to discover each time you visit First State Heritage Park! Walking tours are offered hourly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We encourage guests to wear comfortable shoes and bring water for all walking tours. Auburn Heights Mansion Tour

Explore one of the best examples of a Queen Anne style Victorian mansion in Delaware with a one-hour tour, at 1 p.m. every Thursday and Friday. The mansion is the former home of the Marshall family whose legacy of industry and innovation filled the home with the antiques and furnishings there today.
